For someone with a degree in planning, Mike Marcus’ life is not going entirely according to plan. While in college, he worked as an intern in the real estate development division of a design firm. One of his classes in city and regional planning developed an award-winning plan for downtown Templeton. The American Planning Association named him one of two top student planners nationwide just before he graduated from Cal Poly in 2007.
